* Recording & Discography
    - Budapest String Quartet & its members
   (except for Alexander Schneider's recordings)

  • This discography is incomplete because my source is much restricted. I have little information on their 78s and monaural recordings. Any information will be welcomed. (Recording data not in this page, broadcast recording, or other rare CDs.....) I recommend the book 'Con Brio' by Nat Brandt, son-in-law of Boris Kroyt. This book contains full discography of this legendary ensemble.
  • I tried to include recently available CDs first in this page, but I excluded most of all items from such labels as Iron Needle, Enterprise, etc. If you'd like to know the reason, see Hall of Shame.
